You can also pay by credit card directly with your Midwife.

And you CAN use your HSA!

Payments for care as follows:

$1,000 deposit at start of care

$1,000 at the start of the third trimester

The remaining balance at 37 weeks.

Your out-of-pocket expenses can range from $1000 – $8,000. Please schedule a consultation to review our fees and any insurance coverage that you may have.

Insurance Coverage

When we put in your insurance info into the insurance billing agency’s website, they call and get your benefit run down and let us know what your insurance will cover and what they will not. Then we can let you know.

Most of the time, the billing agency is able to get good payments for our fees, even for home births!

We use Midwives Advantage Billing Agency to bill and collect for your services and they are amazing to work for!  They do all the work and make it very easy for us and you.

We are out-of-network providers for all insurance companies. We find that we get better payments from insurance companies when we are not contracted to charge specific amounts.

Common insurance companies who work with us are: Aetna, Cigna, BSBC, and United.  There are other companies that also work with us.  Discuss this during your complimentary interview by scheduling an appointment.

Also, for those with insurance that only covers in-network providers, you can request for an in-network exception, because we are the ONLY licensed Birth Center in 30-60 miles of you. But this is only necessary if we find that your insurance company won’t pay out of network providers at all. Most do pay in or out of network.

Payment received on your behalf, from your insurance company.  Reimbursement will be settled after insurance payments are all finalized.

Midwives Advantage Billing Service charges a 35% commission on what is collected minus the deductible.

Midwives Advantage is a 3rd party biller.  They bill on the client/patient’s behalf.

Medicaid can be utilized by billing the State for laboratory work, chiropractic care and ultrasound(s). Utilizing these covered services can deduct $360.00 from the total birth fee package.
